Little Surprises.

HURHUR!

I was suppose to be doing my homework but I got distracted by pictures and a video a friend in York uploaded.

There is no way one won't be distracted by this!

My friend was walking back after he watched Sister Act, he spotted this busker/homeless guy who was singing through a cone. Amused, he took a photo along with this video:

You never know what you will come across. (:

Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie

Shaw Centre, 1 Scotts Road, #01-01A, Singapore 228208

I doubt that there is any dessert lover that doesn't know this place. :D I went there after a really long and horrible week with a friend I haven't seen for a week.

Barcelona is a surprisingly dense and full flavoured cake. It had quite a mix of texture: smooth, crunchy, soft, tender. To top it off, there was a small but heavenly chocolate macaroon!

I wasn't suppose to have any dessert because of the horrible flu and cough but I couldn't care less. One should never be denied of desserts, no matter what. :D Plus, I just love the cakes there.

My next conquest from Canele: The macaroon burger. (It looks really really sweet. :D)

Breakfast!

I made it myself. :D

Shaved honey baked ham, sprinkled with chili padi in light soya sauce, oregano leaves and just a little black peppercorn.

Put into the toaster for about 3-4 mins.

You can always drizzle it with just a little olive oil, it would make it smoother and yummier. (:

Caught in Action.

Anyone want to take a guess as to who is the model for this series?

One half.

Next half.

Hello little green man!

Don't run away!

A Gross Experiment.

During lab on Monday, my class extracted our DNA via a really disgusting method - which is to fill a vial with 2ml of our saliva with check cells in it.

It was really gross but worth it cause just look at the mass of DNA!

It's the cloudy tangled mass floating in the red dye.

Producing that much saliva was harder than I thought especially with phlegm. :D

My class was entirely embarrassed about having to spit several times to get saliva with no bubbles. It was so hilarious. Everyone had a serious face and were all gargling and trying to spit discreetly into the vial.

It was definitely something new and interesting for me. (:

Snowman in the Making.

I've been wanting to blog really badly but I am sick so I was busy resting. :\

Anyway, so much exciting things happened!

My YG group made a snowman at a friend's house for the 0-4 years old kids from my church. Paul planted the idea in Joel's head, who got ahead of himself and began to plan a major enterprise of Christmas figurines made just for Christmas. :D

He was so enthusiastic about it that he managed to rope Becky, Laura and I in to help make a snowman - out of newspaper, from the scratch - on that day itself.

In the beginning:

Making the snowman grow in FAST.

All taped up so it would be more spherical though it looks more like a cube. :D

Trying to speed up the process...

I made them pose for this becuase they were moving so fast all my pictures were blur. :D

Thinking of different ways to layer the sphere.

A really messy messed up snowman's body.

A much bigger and less messy version!

For some odd reason, this looks like a cradle. Maybe that's why Joel suggested to name it baby. :D

The 185 giant and the snowman's body vs the two bunnies.

In case you were wondering why Joel looked like he was in pain, it was because Laura tortured his bunnies by tying their long ears together and dangling it, not that the snowman's body was heavy. :D :D

I am quite sure he will be relatively upset when if he finds out that I posted his unglamorous pictures on my blog.

:D

Outer Space

Anyone wants to guess what medium was used for the art pieces below?

The answer:

Spray paint.

Isn't it awesome?

They are created by Tomoya, a Japanese artist.

The pictures are all taken from here, his official website.

Fresh Soya Milk N&B

Something entirely tragic happened to me today: I went all the way to Raffles City to work for about an hour when I realized I should be at another branch instead. I called my manager to double check with her only to find out she thought I wasn't working there today and had someone to replaced me.

So I ended up going home without working, without pay and wasted money on transport.

Plus, I woke up this morning feeling sick and it turned out that I am down with a flu. :\

So...I decided to cheer myself up by treating myself to 2 bowls of hot peanut dumpling soya beancurd! :D :D (No i did not eat 2 at one go, I'm not that amazing. :D)

Ang Mo Kio Ave 4, Blk 163, #01-438, Singapore 560163

My love!

Smoothest beancurd I ever had.

Doesn't it look huge?

It is amazing that the moment you bite it, all the warm fragrant peanut filling starts to ooze out and fill your mouth.

This is where my friends and I religiously have our supper at almost every other night or at least once a week.

I felt so much better after eating that.

Who wouldn't?

(:
